The Iowa City Repair Cafe seeks to foster a culture of repair in the Iowa City area in order to reduce waste, empower people to care for and fix their things, and promote a more sustainable future. Since our founding in 2023, we have diverted 1000 pounds from the landfill each year by helping give new life to household items from clothing to electronics to small engines to furniture and encouraged Repair Cafe attendees to learn new skills to keep their old belongings working.
